Come and join the ladies of the Sew Vintage team for a wonderful morning of mini lampshade fairy light making. You will create your own set of the most beautiful festoon lights, perfect for any home, using an array of vintage and vintage inspired fabrics and trims. Choose between mini drum shades or mini empire shades. When you have finished you will have a beautiful unique string set of 15 fairy lights to take home. No sewing experience required. If you have your own fabric that you want to use please feel free to bring it along

We are excited to announce @curatedbyfriends will be hosting their first Succulent Terrarium Workshop. During their workshop learn how to plant and tend your own Succulent Terrariums. Create two, (one large and one small), unique and fascinating miniature plant scapes and pick-up all the tips and tricks you need to keep them happy and thriving.
The afternoon workshop will include,
A selection of succulent plants, compost, grit and sand for planting, pebbles and shells for decoration. Instruction/care booklet and a choice of vintage vessels for a small terrarium will be provided.
Bring your own glass or ceramic vessel to create a large terrarium (between 20cm and 28cm diameter) or choose one from our vintage selection available to buy on the day.
All tools and equipment will be provided for use during the workshop including the small terrarium.

Saturday 18th May 10-4 and Sunday 19th May 10-1
Sophie and Victoria of Sew Vintage will spend the weekend with you, as you create your own tailored lampshade. This one and a half day workshop will provide you with the skills to make a balloon lined, bowed empire shade using traditional methods and hand stitching techniques. Learn how to bind the frame, pin and fit your top fabric and lining and finish with a hand stitched bias trim.
This workshop requires you to be a capable sewer with your own sewing machine. Maximum of 6 places.
You will need to bring, your own sewing machine together with a basic sewing kit of scissors, tailors chalk/pencil, tape measure, and plenty of glass head pins. You will also need to bring top fabric for your shade and any extra trim that you wish to use.
We will provide, Frames, binding and lining.
Cost £120 per person. Includes tea/coffee and cake plus a light lunch on day one.
Saturday 8TH June 10-5
Sophie and Victoria of Sew Vintage will guide you through the traditional craft of seat caning. Working on a sample frame, you will be guided through each stage. Building your knowledge and understanding of this very old traditional craft. At the end of this one day workshop, you will have created a square panel of beautiful traditional caning to take home. This is an excellent first project to gain the skills and confidence to tackle you own furniture.
Beginners welcome, no previous experience is required. We are relaxed and friendly and workshops are kept to a minimum of six.
Cost £95 per person. All materials are supplied. Tea/coffee, homemade cake and a light lunch are also included.

The ladies of Sew Vintage will work with you to paint a lamp base and create your own beautiful lampshade to create a bespoke piece for your home. During the morning you will make a fabulous 30 cm drum lampshade, in your chosen fabric. In the afternoon you will be shown how to paint a lovely wooden lamp base to compliment your shade, using chalk paints and waxes.
You will need to bring : Half a meter of fabric for you shade
We provide : 30 cm drum shade kit, 45 cm beech lamp base, Paint and waxes, Tea/coffee, cake and a light lunch

Sunday 16th June 1-3pm
Join Emma from the award winning Bespoke Flower Company and learn, with her guidance how to create the perfect hand tied bouquet. Emma will share her creative floristry flair and inspire you in this fun Sunday afternoon workshop. All materials and refreshments will be provided.

Spend the morning with Victoria and Sophie of Sew Vintage, in their popular lampshade workshop. They will teach you how to create your own stunning 30 cm diameter drum lampshade. All the materials you will need are provided, the only thing you’re required to bring is a piece of your own fabric.
Size of fabric required: minimum 97 cm wide x 25.5 cm long (woven fabric are best eg. cotton or linen. Avoid stretch fabrics)

Places fill up fast, so your booking will only be secured once full payment is received. When booking over the phone, payment must be made using a credit or debit card. Bookings can be taken in person at the shop. An email address and contact number must be given.
All places are non refundable should you be unable to attend. All workshops are held on the 1st floor of The Malthouse Collective, 6-9 Salmon Springs, Stroud, GL6 6NU. There is no lift to the first floor.
